About the role
We have a great opportunity for a motivated Field Representative to join our team at our Ashburton site. This is a Full-Time role, directly reporting to the Agronomy Team Lead. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for coordinating daily aspects of vegetable production on behalf of Seasons Best – crop planning, grower contracting, agronomy from pre-plant to harvest, crop sampling, harvest scheduling, and storage (where applicable). The successful candidate will engage with internal and external parties to achieve better outcomes for the grower, factory, and our consumers, and actively participate in industry development and training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day‑to‑day ownership of assigned crop programmes, overseeing field execution from pre‑plant through to harvest
- Regular paddock monitoring and grower engagement to support crop performance, quality, and timing for the factory
- Coordinating planting, in‑crop activities, and harvest in collaboration with growers and our internal operations and logistics teams
- Providing practical agronomic support and implementing recommendations aligned with guidance from the Agronomy Team Lead
- Liaising with the grower to maintain accurate crop records, compliance documentation, and audit‑ready reporting
For this role, you will need:
- A formal agriculture qualification or relevant background, ideally with 2–3 years’ experience in agronomy or a related field
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and record‑keeping ability
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and farm management software
- A sound understanding of health and safety requirements in an operational environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with growers and internal teams
